Testimonies

During the summer camps of 2010 we had 824 campers, 10% more than in 2009. 231 of them trusted Christ and as far as we can tell these were genuine first time decisions. We are particularly thankful that we could help a lot of orphans and victims of the Spring floods of Northern Hungary. Rejoice with us as you read camper stories from new Christians.
T. (10 year old girl): ...we don’t talk about faith or God at home. I don’t have any siblings and my parents don’t believe in God, but as soon as I get home, I want to talk about Him to them. I understood that Jesus died for my sins and that He rose again on the third day. I’m very glad that I could learn this and so much more...
T. (13 year old boy): ...I heard the gospel before, but didn’t know I had to make a decision. I thought if I go to church and read my Bible sometimes, that’s good enough. Here, I understood that I have to make a personal decision. When I go home, I will tell everything to my parents....I was never bored here!
É. (17 year old girl): ...this was my tenth year here at camp.... though I heard the gospel many times, I didn’t make a decision until now....As soon as I made a decision, I called my parents to share this big news with them. I think it’s very important to talk about our faith to others since it’s a matter of life and death...
H. (14 year old girl): ...my parents are believers but we don’t go to church these days because when things aren’t going good at home, my parents lose faith and stop going to church....This camp encouraged me to pray
when I’m sad and to give it all to God...
D. (17 year old guy): ...I have lived in an orphanage all my life...I was three month old when they took me from my real parents because they were drinking a lot....Everyone is so nice here to one another, even the Americans! I love the baseball instruction.... I got a Bible here, and I already started reading it. I’m very interested in the New Testament...
Gy. (20 year old young lady): ...honestly I didn’t like this camp in the beginning, but ...this past Tuesday I felt I was strong enough to recommit my life to Jesus....I really liked the great practical advices from the Bible...
R. (15 year old girl, from another flood victim family): “...our house became dangerous and...we had to flee from it...We lost everything...I really liked this camp for it was here that I really got to know God...
A. (15 year old girl, her parents’ farm was completely destroyed in the Spring floods) ...when the flood came I helped filling sand-bags, to build a temporary dam to protect our town .Unfortunately the river came
through, flooded our street, our home, our farm. The Bible part of this camp was interesting. I had never
thought before the Bible could be so actual and relevant...
And last a short word that tells volumes from a little child: I learned that the Son of God died for my sins
and rose from the grave. (B. 9 years old)
